Poet & Pour Creative Experience
Get ready to pour your heart out - you don’t need to be a poet. You don’t need to understand poetry. You simply need a voice, a spark of curiosity and a willingness to try something new.
Poet & Pour is a fun and intimate three-hour creative experience designed for women to take off their many hats for a few hours and allow them to quiet their inner critic, reconnect with their creativity and discover what happens when they stop waiting for confidence to use their voice.
Guided by poet, educator and creative facilitator Sarah Dee, you’ll experiment with words through playful, accessible writing activities—without academic rules, intimidating analysis or pressure to produce something perfect.
You’ll leave with words on the page, new creative tools, meaningful connections and evidence that you never needed permission to call yourself creative. Come alone, or recruit the group chat - all are welcome.
No writing or poetry experience is required. All you need to bring is yourself.
What to Expect
-
No Shakespeare analysis. No confusing literary terminology. No expectation that you already know how to write. Sarah makes poetry accessible, playful and deeply human—even if the last poem you encountered was in Year 9 English.
-
You’ll work through guided prompts, wordplay and unexpected creative exercises designed to quiet your inner critic and get words onto the page. There is no single “right” way to participate or create.
-
Sarah will lead you through every activity, offer practical creative support and share examples from her own work. You’ll be encouraged to experiment—not pressured to perform, share or produce something perfect.
-
Poet & Pour is intimate, warm and intentionally small. You’ll create alongside women who may feel just as nervous, curious or creatively rusty as you do. Sharing your work is always optional.
-
You’ll leave with several pieces of new writing, the beginnings of an original poem, a beautiful journal and practical tools you can continue using whenever fear or perfectionism tries to silence you.
